The study hub then offers work at the edge of your level: mostly understandable, with enough unknown language to stretch you. What opens next follows comprehension, vocabulary retention, and repeated grammar performance. Reading carries the practice. Short articles and graded stories arrive matched to you, with a known-word estimate before you start. Tap any word for a dictionary gloss, with readings for Japanese and Mandarin. Words you meet become the review queue. Spaced repetition brings back the ones you are about to forget, in the contexts where you met them. Listening is graded audio with a transcript, tap-through definitions, and a comprehension check. Writing starts from something you just read or heard: you summarize it, Atlas Runa marks the mistakes, explains the form, and asks for a rewrite. Speaking begins with shadowing short lines, then continues with an AI tutor. Video immersion turns a YouTube transcript into vocabulary from something you already wanted to watch. Drills lock forms you have already met: conjugation through the harder moods, plus numbers, gender, prepositions, particles, counters, and classifiers. For Japanese and Mandarin, review tracks kana, kanji, and words together. Levels use CEFR, and JLPT or HSK where learners use those ladders. An exam list, a class, a book, or a show can bend what comes next. Runa, the in-app tutor, breaks down a sentence, explains what you wrote, and answers the question the text just raised.
