Record your screen without showing your face or your voice
HappyRec is a free screen recorder for people who would rather not be on camera. Turn on avatar mode and one of twelve characters takes your place, driven by your own face tracking — it blinks when you blink and its mouth moves when yours does — while your camera image is never written to the file. The voice changer shifts pitch and formants in real time. It is signal processing, not speech recognition, so it behaves identically in every spoken language. There is no language setting because it does not need one. The rest is an ordinary recorder. Record the whole screen, a single window, a custom area you draw, a browser tab, or voice only. Up to 4K at 60fps. System audio and your microphone together. A webcam bubble as a circle or a card, or your logo instead, plus your own watermark text in any of three corners. Pause and resume, a countdown, and keyboard shortcuts. The Chrome and Edge extensions add drawing on the page while you record — pen, highlighter, arrow, box and circle in six colours, with undo. Everything stays on your machine. No account, no sign-up, no cloud and no analytics. On Mac you choose the folder; on Windows recordings go to Videos\HappyRec; the extensions save to Downloads. The Mac app is native Swift, not Electron. It is free on every platform — no subscription, no trial limit and no in-app purchases. The one thing we ask is a small HappyRec badge in the corner of the video. That is the whole business model, and there is no pro tier behind it. Built by Happy Coders in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
