Automatically manage YouTube captions and avoid duplicates
subtitle.im is a Chrome extension that automatically turns on available YouTube captions. It detects burned-in subtitles locally and turns off duplicate YouTube captions according to your settings, while keeping the video and burned-in subtitles unchanged. If the two use different languages, choose to close captions automatically, be asked first, or keep them; detection acts only with supported languages and sufficient evidence. Restore captions whenever needed. Frame sampling and OCR run locally without uploading video frames or subtitle text. Try 10 successfully handled videos free without signing up. Optional Pro adds ongoing automatic handling, channel and video rules, and memory of confirmed closures. It does not generate, translate, or download subtitles.
